The Engine
At the core of this bike is Triumph’s race-tuned 1160cc three-cylinder engine. This powerplant was used by Moto2 racers this past year to set record after record and has now been modified further for 2025 to make it even more powerful.
Peak horsepower now sits at 180.5 at 10,750rpm while torque has increased to 94.4lb-ft of torque. Triumph also promises that thanks to revised crankshaft balancing, their engine should feel smoother.
It features new wheels adorned with Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP V3 tires and rides on Ohlins SmartEC3 semi-active suspension. To control it, there’s Triumph’s 5-inch TFT dash and five-way bar-mounted joystick control system as well as cruise control, five ride modes and front wheel lift control – plus more!
Other features include quickshifter up/down function and headlight beam control. Braking duties are handled by Brembo Stylema four-piston units mounted radially. The Speed Triple RS will come available in Jet Black, Granite and Diablo Red or Jet Black with Performance Yellow graphics.
The Suspension
The 2025 Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS features Ohlins SmartEC semi-active suspension to improve handling. Riders can customize it using five riding modes — Track, Road, Rain, Sport and Rider configurable — along with front wheel lift control and engine braking control (only in Track mode) plus brake slide assist functionality activated under heavy braking.
The 2025 1160cc Speed Triple delivers 180 horsepower peak power and 94.4 lb-ft of torque at 10,750rpm, the same look remains bold, featuring insectoid twin headlights, sculpted bodywork and single-sided swingarm; in addition, this model comes equipped with an additional seat cowl to further refine its rear end appearance.
The bike features an extensive electronic suite including cornering ABS and traction control, an up/down quickshifter, cruise control and MyTriumph connectivity with smartphone integration. There’s also the new Rider Assist system, which can be tuned through a TFT dash, providing Front Wheel Lift Control, Engine Braking Control, Brake Slide Assist (only in Track mode), plus Ohlins steering damping damper to complete this package.
The Ride
As its name implies, Triumph’s Speed Triple 1200 RS is their most performance-focused Modern Classic to date. Equipped with fully adjustable Ohlins suspension and Metzeler Racetec RR tires delivering optimal power and control, as well as a more dominant riding posture due to a revised seat and footpeg position and updated rider aids such as switchable cornering traction control, front wheel lift control and shift assist up/down quickshifter (in Track mode only), this bike delivers unparalleled agility, precision and dynamics performance compared to previous Speed Triple models ever made by Triumph!
Triumph’s 1,160cc Triple now produces three more horsepower than before, reaching 180.5hp at 10,750rpm and 94.4lb-ft of torque. Furthermore, its exhaust system reportedly offers improved freer-flow while lighter clutch, crankshaft balancing and removal of an unnecessary oil pump contribute to improved reliability and ease of operation. Furthermore, Triumph introduced new wheels featuring slanted spokes (5 up front and 7 on rear) designed to decrease gyroscopic forces and sharpen steering response – another key enhancement aimed at increasing power!
The Technology
Akrapovic exhaust helps enhance the look, with wider bars and reshaped seat cowl. Furthermore, Triumph added an adjustable steering damper to reduce gyroscopic forces and enhance handling performance further.
A brand-new 1160cc inline-three engine produces 180hp (3 more than its predecessor) and 125 Nm of torque for an unforgettable driving experience and exhilarating acceleration at top speed.
Suspension duties are managed by Ohlins’ latest-generation SmartEC3 semi-active electronic suspension system, featuring an adjustable 43 mm USD fork and twin tube monoshock TTX36 from their SmartEC3 series that consistently alter compression and rebound damping settings. Furthermore, ride modes (Rain, Road, Sport, Track Rider), front wheel lift control, engine braking control as well as five-way bar-mounted joystick with five-inch TFT dash provide more rider aids such as cruise control as Shift Assist quickshifter quickshifter quickshifter quickshifter technology are standard features as is their MyTriumph connectivity pack which integrates smartphone apps to provide turn-by-turn navigation services as well as GoPro control operation, music playback capabilities among other services.
